My Top Ten…Day Six

6. All The Presidents Men by Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward

For as long as I can remember I have a fascination with American Politics especially the era of the Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon presidency where you have literally every conspiracy theory going flying out, assassinations, secret surveillance etc but Nixon has always intrigued me. The Watergate Scnadal, his denials of any involvement in the break-in, the cover-up, impeachment and the first president to resign from office.  The investigation by two Washington Post journalist that leads to the downfall of a president are compelling. You don’t have to have an interest in politics to enjoy this book. All the Presidents men is an amazing, dramatic  detective story and one that I thoroughly recommend.

P.S. If you enjoy ‘All the Presidents Men’ then I also recommend ‘A Memoir of the Vietnam War and the Pentagon Papers’ by Daniel Ellsberg.
