Richard and Judy Search for a Bestseller 2016 – WHSmith Blog

There’s probably not one person who went to uni in the nineties who doesn’t know who Richard and Judy is. I’m sure that there were many mornings lost in the abyss that was ‘This Morning’ on ITV, however, since then they have launched a very successful book club (for my non-uk people, think the equivalent of Oprah’s book club). Anyway, I digress. I bring news of a new competition. Richard and Judy together with publisher Bonnier Zaffre, and WHSmith have a launched a competition where the successful writer will win a £50,000 publishing deal.

I’ve read the small print and you all have to do is:

Submit 10,000 words plus a detailed synopsis of your novel by 31 May 2016
The submission can be in most fiction genres including crime fiction, historical fiction, romance, thrillers and women’s fiction, but not science fiction, fantasy, children’s and teenage fiction.

Unfortunately, self-published writers are not eligible to enter and you must be a resident of the UK and the Republic of Ireland and over 18 years old.

Anyway, here’s the link for all of you budding authors:
